Hon Roderick Galdes visits Magro’s tomato fields and tomato plant

The Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Roderick Galdes, visited Gozo. Mr Christian Magro accompanied him in the fields where he met with farmers busy with this season’s tomato harvest. He expressed his appreciation for their hard work, particularly in the heat of the sun whilst tending their crops.

He stressed the importance of this agricultural sector, which is the livelihood of hundreds of farmers and workers who are part of the chain in this process. Roderick Galdes stated that the Government has obtained to continue helping the sector for the coming seven years.

After visiting the fields, Mr Christian Magro accompanied Roderick Galdes to the Magro tomato plant in Xewkija who were greeted by John Magro.

John Magro said that so far, the harvest is progressing well, and the quality of the tomatoes is above average due to the perfect climate that we are experiencing this summer.
