100th Anniversary Celebration of Magro Brothers

On Sunday 29th May 2016 marked a very special occasion for the firm Magro Brothers who celebrated their 100th Anniversary.

A ‘festa’ themed event was organized at the Villa Rundle Gardens in Victoria by the Directors of Magro Brothers.

Hundreds of people joined to celebrate the 100 years of History! Her Excellency, The President of Malta, Marie-Louis Coleiro Preca, The Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat and Mrs Muscat, Hon Simon Busuttil, Leader of the Opposition and His Excellency Mario Grech Bishop of Gozo, together with a number of members of parliament were just a few amongst the special guests.

The directors of many distributors and retail outlets in Malta and Gozo also joined in the celebrations.

Mr John Magro, Managing Director addressed the guests with an emotional speech followed by a feature which was screened outlining the last 100 years of Magro Brothers. The many guests were also entertained with live music, appetizing Maltese delicacies and flowing wine and cocktails.

A book about the Gozo and how business developed during the past 100 years was launched during the ceremony. The author of the book ‘A Century of Enterprise, was Dr Joseph Bezzina, a well know local researcher and the book design and photography was taken care of by Mr Daniel Cilia.

All proceeds from donations received for the book during this event was shared amongst the Malta Community Chest Fund and The Marigold Foundation.

The Centenary Celebrations closed off with a spectacular fireworks display.
