No matter how far from home you travel or how long you’ve been away, a person’s roots will always bring fond memories and sweet recollections!
Three Hills Brand Kunserva is a prime example of this. It has been established long enough to be remembered by the hundreds of families that had emigrated to Australia in years gone by bringing back the tastes and flavours of traditional Maltese cuisine.
The first shipping containers of Malta’s favourite Kunserva were shipped across the globe at the beginning of May this year. In an agreement between local manufacturers Magro Brothers, of Gozo, and Melita Pastries of Melbourne, Australia, Three Hills Brand Kunserva today stands proud even on Australian supermarket shelves.
To commemorate the event, Mr John Magro, owner and CEO of Magro Brothers, visited Australia and held a “Three Hills Night” to celebrate this important milestone for the company. The event was organized in collaboration with “MAUSSIES”, the Maltese – Australian Organisation who work to connect people of Maltese lineage in Australia. Also present for the big event were Mr. Maurice Cauchi, president of the Maltese Community Council of Victoria, Australia high commissioner Mr. Francis Tabone, Consul General for Malta in Australia Mr. Charles Mifsud, and co owner of Melita Pastries in Melbourne Mr. Joe Portelli.
Over 200 guests attended and were treated to a Maltese cultural event of dance, music, traditional Maltese food and, of course, sampling of Three Hills Brand Kunserva and Kapunata.
