E.U. Commissioner Mr Dacian Ciolos at Magro Brothers Gozo

H.E. Mr Dacian Ciolos, E.U. Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development paid an official visit to Magro Brothers Plant in Xewkija. Magro Brothers Chairman, Mr John Magro and Director Mr Michael Magro welcomed H.E. Mr Ciolos and his delegation and showed him various divisions of the 27,000 sq.mt. “Magro Food Village”.

Management and Staff also had the happy occasion of personally greeting Mr Ciolos at the Head Office reception. Accompanying H.E. Mr Ciolos were the Hon. George Pullicino, Minister for Resources and Rural Affairs, the Hon. Giovanna Debono, Minister for Gozo and Mr Martin Bugelli, Head of E.U. Representation in Malta, Dr. Christopher Ciantar, Permanent Secretary Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs, Dr Justin Zahra Director Agriculture apart from other various Government Officials. After a brief presentation by Mr Magro on the History of Magro Brothers and the Traditional Maltese Culture of Tomatoes for Processing, H.E. Mr Ciolos had a taste of some of the Maltese delicacies produced at the Magro Food Village.

At the end of the visit Mr John Magro and the Hon. Giovanna Debono presented H.E. Mr Ciolos with gift books to remember our beautiful islands namely Gozo 360 and Gorgeous Gozo.
